from Columbia University in History and Education where my dissertation scholarship examined the history of Harlem Prep, an alternative high school that educated nontraditional students that had been pushed out of school from 1967-1974. Prior to teaching at UCI, I served as an Adjunct History Professor at El Camino College. I am currently a Lecturer of Education Sciences at the University of California, Irvine and Research Fellow at the Institute for Urban and Minority Education (IUME) at Teachers College, Columbia University.
